Siberian Husky was originally developed by the Chukchi people of Northeastern Asia about 3,000 years ago. This breed was used for centuries by Chukchi people in Siberia to pull sleds, herd reindeer and perform watchdogging functions. They had became very popular as a companion dog, but they are also used for sledding, racing and carting. Native to Siberian, the Husky was brought to Alaska in 1909.
Siberian Husky club of America was founded in 1938 while AKC was introduced this breed in 1938. They are very sturdy dog and are wonderful in the sports area. This is very light-weighted sled dog with great stamina. Because of its moderate size it was able to run far and fast but it is unable to pull much weight.
They are a medium sized, strong and gracefully.
Siberian Husky are handsome, dignified and energetic though they are in medium sized they are extremely strong and they will pull light loads at a moderate speed for long distance. Their eyes are brown, blue, amber or light brown in color and shaped in almond shape, moderately spaced and set a trifle obliquely.
This
dog breed has markings on its head including many striking pattern this is not found in other breeds.
Siberian Husky ears are triangular in shape and they are well furred, medium sized and erect. They are so soft they had good hearing capacity and its coat is thick, wooly, undercoat and soft undercoat. This consists of different coat markings most notable being a pie-bald.
Siberian Husky need some amount of exercise but they are not exercised in warm weather. They require large yard with a high fence and it prefers to live in packs. They should be kept in apartments if they are well trained and properly exercised.
Siberian Husky should be combed thoroughly with a metal comb. Because of their heavy coats this breed prefer cool climates.

A dog's standard height varies from 21 to 23 ½ while bitch's height varies from 20 to 22 inches.

Dog's weight vary between 45 to 60 Pounds while bitches weight vary between 35 to 50 Pounds.

A healthy Siberian Husky dogs lives about 12 to 15 years.
