Scottish Terrier is a small, compact, short-legged, sturdily-built dog of good bone and substance. Its sharply pricked ears give the
scottish terrier a thoughtful look. It has a large nose and large teeth and eyes are almond-shaped, and its neck is muscular. Its tail is medium-length, carried straight or slightly curved and its skull is long.
Scottish Terrier's coat is coarse with a soft and dense undercoat that provides protection from bad weather. The outer hair coat is hard and wiry and grows to approximately 2 inches in length. The
Scottie is black in color, but the coat may also be brindle, gray, sandy, and wheaten. Its tail is seven inches long and never cut. It should be set on high and carried erectly, either vertical or with a slight curve forward, but not over the back.

Scottish terrier does not do well in extremely warm climates. They love to play ball and derive great pleasure from playing fetch. They are suited for apartment life and require regular exercise. It is very sensitive to criticism and praise and therefore should be trained gently. These
dogs can be used as good house pets.
