Saint Bernard is known for their leisurely approach to life and huge tolerance and patience levels. They are extremely dedicated to their families and quite eager to please. It is their extremely high intelligence level which pleases most of the animal lovers.
Physical Appearance
They belong to the working
breed group. Saint Bernard is generally available in two variants. First is the one which has smooth or short haired coat variant while the other is quite rough and longhaired. However, both the variants of Saint Bernard are extremely water resistant. The coat of Saint Bernard can be found in several colors, such as tan, red, mahogany and black among several others. They are characterized by a huge head with a lot of wrinkles, especially above the eye area. Saint Bernard has a round, triangular shaped ears.
Saint Bernard as a Pet
It is quite easy to take up a Saint Bernard as a
pet, especially for individuals who have an apartment living. However, they do need a minimum level of exercise and outdoor activities on a daily basis. Saint Bernard is known to be quite messy eaters. They also have a tendency to drool incessantly.
