Poodle

This Poodle breed appears in varieties such as Standard, Toy and Miniature. It is originally developed to be water dog that retrieved game fowl. The word Poodle came from a German word called as Pudel. They had became popular at Europe for 100 years and it has treated has national dog. Poodles can be found in shelters and its breed is an agile, athletic dog which was developed to hunt birds.

A very important event in the history of Poodles when the dog breed was imported from France to Great Britain. First Poodle which was registered the Kennel club of England in 1874. Originally Poodle club of America was founded in 1896. Its coat is dense and it does not shed.



Poodle dog eyes are very dark and oval-shaped, muzzle are long and straight. This dog breed requires regular grooming its ears are hanging close to the head and it is set at eye level or slightly lower and long wide.

Clipping must be done every six to eight weeks and it may be groomed in three different styles like Pet clip, English Saddle and Continental. Poodle bath should be done only if necessary with mild shampoo.

Its teeth and ears are cleaned and checked in a consistent basis. They require daily brushing to prevent mats and tangles. Poodle dogs are okay in apartment life and it should be sufficiently exercised so that their body is physically fit.

Any solid colors like silver, cream, blue, black and white.

A dog's standard height varies from15 to 21 inches.

Dog's weight vary between 45 to 65 lbs.



Poodle is an agile, graceful and athletic among all the breeds this was treated as one of the attentive, intelligent and intuitive breed. They are loyal and deeply devoted to their owner and family it has a tendency to bark excessively. Poodles are excel in learning tricks, retrieving and competitive obedience. This is sensitive in nature and Poodle will not respond to harsh and heavy-handed methods. Poodles are reserved for strangers and makes a good watchdog.

Poodle as a Pet

Poodle pets enjoy swimming, family sessions and leashed walks. They require socialization and obedience training. For pets long hair should be brushed daily to remove any tangles. It does best with fairness, respect, patience and consistency. Poodle have tremendous sense of humor and true of life. It requires extensive grooming and these are the breeds of distinction, elegance and dignity, they are very good family pets.
