Miniature Bull Terrier originate from England and this bred is originally for hunting rats, mice and dog fighting. Miniature breed had another name called Coverwood Terrier and it was first introduced by the AKC in 1991. The Bull Terrier is a British breed of dog and they used it for sheep herding and hunting as well as vermin control. This breed has been used as a guard, ratter, herder and watchdog.

They achieved their goals by crossing the Bulldog and the black and tan Terrier to create the Bull and Terrier breed. English kennel club introduced Miniature as a distinct breed in 1939. This dog breed was accepted in miscellaneous class in 1963 and it was accepted as a breed in 1991. Although the mini Bull Terrier is not a very popular breed and it is a perfect Terrier in a manageable size.



Most distinctive feature of Miniature Bull Terrier is its head and eyes are small, dark almond-shaped and closely set. A thick-set muscular, well-proportioned animal and it has short dense coat comes in pure white, black and tri-color. Their shoulders are robust and muscular their tail is carried horizontally its body is full and round.

Miniature Bull Terrier are tenacious fighters and they are aggressive towards other dogs. Bull Terrier are generally healthy but some will suffer from Zinc deficiency, which can cause death. Miniature Bull Terrier walks with a jaunty gait, this is popularly known as 'gladiator of the canine race'. The Bull Terrier is easy to groom and this breed is an average shedder, shedding twice a year. This breed is tough, loyal and can be stubborn.

Bull Terrier dogs are medium in size and their coat is very short and flat it is closely lying and very tight. Miniature Bull Terrier skin should be tight and it should not wrinkles or saggy skin. And their coat should remain harsh to touch and always be glossy.

White, colored can be any color, including brindle.

A dog's standard height varies from 10 to 14 inches.

Dog's weight varies between 25 to 35 pounds.

A healthy Miniature Bull dog lives about 12 to 13 years.



Miniature Bull Terrier breed should always have an experienced handler, as it can be very protective. It is very difficult to train them so they need full experienced owner top train this breed. Miniature Bull Terrier always love daily long walks and they love a regular romp free, but they should be always placed in a fenced area. It needs daily regular exercise at least one hour per day so that it can be active and healthy. Regular grooming is not required for this shorthaired breed only brushing and combing is required to remove loose hair from Miniature Bull Terrier.

Miniature Bull Terrier as a pet

Miniature Bull Terrier pet are high energetic to play for a long time and they should be brushed once a week and bath if necessary. Pets need early socialization to prevent them dominant or possessive. Their ears should be cleaned on regular basis and nails should be clipped at least once every two weeks so they can be in a manageable in length. Miniature Bull Terrier can be wonderful pet if it is thoroughly socialized and trained. They are very protective and willful. These pets need very firm training and lots of exercise.
