Maltese origin come from Malta dating back to about 1500 B.C. This breed was first appeared at United States in 1877. It was developed in Italy with the addition of miniature spaniel and Poodle blood.
Maltese dog is considered to be the oldest of the European Toy breeds. They are well mannered and affectionate. This breed became very popular with women.
Aristotle wrote about the Maltese in 350 B.C. In early

Maltese is a Toy group dog which is covered from head to foot with a mantle of long, silky, white hair. Their eyes are dark, round, large and deep with dark rims. Its body is slightly longer than tall with a level topline. The
Maltese is fine-boned, but sturdy and they are in pure white in color and light ivory is acceptable.
Its ears and tail are thickly covered with hair and the tail drapes over the back. This breed makes an excellent companion and they are intelligent, easy to train. Maltese coat is straight, lacks on undercoat and they are non-shedding. They are very good for apartment life. This should be bathed regularly with dry shampoo.
They are very active indoors and do okay without yard and clean the eyes daily to prevent staining, and they should be clean the beard after the meals. Their ears should be cleaned and hair should be pulled out growing inside the ear canal. Maltese eyes should be checked regularly and cleaned if necessary.
