Lhasa Apso got the name from sacred city of Lhasa. The first breed is seen at Britain in 1920's and then it is introduced at US in 1930's. These little animals whose legs were short for herding sheep became foundation stock of this breed. And this was ordinated in Tibet this the only breed for 2000 years it was bred in Tibet by holy men and nobles.
Lhasa Apso was impossible to buy and Tibet's ruler present these breeds to foreign diplomats.
The original American pair was a gift from the Dalai Lama to C. suydam cutting, arriving in United States.
Lhasa Apso finally spread all over the world and they are pure-bred dogs. American officially accepted this breed in 1935 in the terrier group and it was transferred to non-sporting group in 1959. And this
dog breed is very long lived breed.
It as dark brown eyes with black pigmentation on eye rims nether very large and full nor very small and sunk.
Lhasa Apso Ears are very pendant and heavily feathered their forelegs were straight, both forelegs and hind legs are fully covered with hair. They are highly intelligent, with keen and cute hearing.
These are not suited for outdoor life and it is an excellent apartment condominium dweller. The coat grows to floor length, even they cover eyes which are protected by eyelashes.
Lhasa Apso long coats keeping them warm in winter and cool in the summer and coat is neither soft nor silky.
Some owners opt to cut the coat short so that grooming can be done easily and it does not need much exercise.
Lhasa Apso are very active indoor and they are not require a yard. They are good watchdogs with loud, persistent bark this gives impression for large dogs. This is a happy breed usually long lived and good with family and with children.

Solid golden, sandy, honey, black parti-color, white or brown.

A dog's standard height vary from 10 to 11 inches while bitch's are very less.

Lhasa Apso is gay and assertive, but chary of strangers. It is noisy and too nervous around children and strangers. It does not require more exercise and it is affectionate with its owner while training.
Lhasa Apso loves to walk and scramble, but it will be fitter and happier if it gets chance to run free and play. It is extremely intelligent and good with adults.
