
Fila brasilerio is a working dog
breed developed from English Mastiff, Bloodhound, Bulldog and Rafeiros in 15th century in Brazil. They are tracking dogs and were used to track Brazilian slaves. It has loose skin and keen sense of smell. The Fila has the ability to track and control livestock and large game.
Fila brasilerio is used to hunt big game and herd cattle. This dog is confident and very self-assured. When ever the Fila brasilerio finds its quarry it does not attack, but rather holds it until the hunter arrives. Due to its potential for aggression and size, it is banned in some countries.
