About the Chinese Crested Breed

There are typically 2 types of body coat to Chinese crested dogs-one is the hairless variety, where only the head, ears, tail and feet are covered with hair. The rest of the body part is endowed with good downy hair skin. The other variety is known as power puff. These dogs have great lush coats of silky hair that runs along the entire length of the body.

Physical appearance of Chinese Crested Dogs

Chinese Crested dogs come in wide range of color combinations; some are single colored, while others are mixed or spotted all over the body. They have a broadened skull with longish muzzles. The eyes are usually dark-colored, while the ears are sloppy or erect. While the hairless variety looks a bit unusual or even comical in appearance, the power puff crested dogs have a cute disposition.

These breeds are definitely rare. As pets they are adorable, affectionate and sweet. They have a cuddly and playful nature that goes well with human beings. They are intelligent enough to perform amazing tricks and be well-behaved with other dogs. These dogs do not bark often, but like to climb heights and dig fancy holes in the ground. They become very attached to their owners, and they do not like to be left on their own. They want steady companionship, love and care.

Special Traits of Chinese Crested Dogs

It is very fascinating to note that both these varieties, power puff and hairless ones could be found in one same litter. You cannot predict which variety could be born in mating process.
