
Chin is also called as Japanese Spaniel. It is a toy dog breed originated from Korea. This
breed later developed in Japan and introduced to Europe in 1700. It is offered as a royal gift because it became favorite to the Japanese court. This breed can only be owned by the members of the Japanese imperial family only.
Chin breed became popular when they were presented to Queen Victoria. In 1964 they were honored as one of Japans national symbols. Japaneses Spaniel was renamed to Japaneses
chin by AKC (American Kennel Club) in 1977. It is always the first and foremost, companion dog. It has following in United states but it remains in Japan.

Chin is very intelligent, loving, pleasant, small, aristocratic toy dog with distinctive expressions. The forehead is quite round, with well defined stop. The dog's outline gives a square appearance. Its tail is carried over the back and curved to the other side.
Chin's eyes are dark colored and ears are small, hanging, V-shaped and set slightly below the skull.
The chin's coat is long, straight, thick and silky. The coat is white in color with patches of yellow, red and orange. More fur is present around the neck and chest. The head and muzzle are covered with short hair. Its legs are fine-boned with elbows close to the body. This
dog breed is stylish and lively in movement and best suited for homes with older children.

The Japaneses chin is good at mirroring the moods of those around them. They are good with other dogs and pets. Even though it is not a good barker it can be used as a good watchdog. These are more obedient as compared to all other toy breeds.
Chin is good dog for apartment life. They are active indoors and sensitive to extreme temperatures. Chin does not require great deal of exercise but it likes to walk and play in open yard. This
dog breed is having full of courage in mind.

Chin dogs are responsive and affectionate with those it loves and good with other
pets, but reserved with strangers. Training them is easy and these dogs are sensitive, so harsh training methods are not preferable. They are affectionate and playful and good at performing tricks.
Chin dog respond's best to gentle, loving, consistent and fair methods. This breed is deeply devoted to their master and love every one.
