The American Eskimo dog was originated in United States. It is one of the Spitz family from Nordic Breeds which are closely related to the white German Spitz. The German Spitz brought to the America and changed name as American Eskimo dog. This was done due to the anti-German feelings at the time of World War I. Todays American Eskimos are considered as a separate breed. This is also closely related to the Samyod and White Keeshond. In 19th century Eskimo was the favourate circus dog.
To achieve the recognition of AKC the American Eskimo dog club of America was formed in 1985. The AKC recognized the American Eskimo dog in July 1 1995. Next it was also recognized by NKC, CKC, ACR and APRI. This dog breed is generally used for watch dog, narcotics, guarding and performing tricks.
The American Eskimo dog is snowy white and beautiful Spitz-type dog. The coat of American Eskimo dog is glorious. The under coat is dense with a long coat of guard hair which grows to form outer coat. The outer coat is straight with no curls. Oftenly American Eskimo dog is referred to as a”Eskie”, and also nicknamed as a” The Dog Beautiful.
Commonly American Eskimo dogs referred to as strong and compact. A Nordic type dog, they are exceedingly alert and agile. American Eskimo dog is considered to be one of the most intelligent of all dog breeds. They are hardy, well balanced, and known for their longevity.

The American Eskimo is an affectionate, charming and loving dog. They are willing to please and easy to train, the American Eskimo often ranks among all top scorers in obedience trials. Some individuals have a willful streak, but most of these dogs like to work. Dogs whose ancestry displays hyperactivity, nervousness or viciousness should not be bred.

These dogs are available in three varieties like the toy, standard, and miniature. This flexible breed possesses outstanding working skills, and becomes a lovely companion. American Eskimos are outgoing, fun loving and are quite sociable.
They are quite friendly to children, family and other household pets. There is no need to use harsh training techniques. Eskimos are excellent with children. American Eskimo dogs are suitable for house pets.

For the past 3 decades we have been carefully raising the unique breed of American Eskimo Dogs and it has been about 10 years that we show them as well. Not only are they fantastic and smart, they are very attractive and amusing too. And it is only our admiration for this excellent breed that has made us do so. Every dog is a prizewinner.
