The American bulldog originated in America's Southeast as a catch dog. In England it was originated as a working dog. Long days back around 1835
bulldogs were used in the bloody sport of bull batting. The litter size is on average 6-16 puppies.
After the World War II the American Bulldogs were started disappearing, At that time by the efforts of John D. Johnson of Summerville, Georgia again the American Bulldogs were existed.
American Bulldog was recognized by UKC, NKC, CKC, APRI, AABC, UKC and ACR.

The American Bulldog is extremely powerful, agile and athletic. The coat is short, harsh with close fitting and color of coat is solid white and various combinations of red, brindle, brown and tan.
American Bulldog head is medium in length. The eyes are black for white dogs and in normal size. When the eyes and nose are pink means there some cosmetic fault. This breed has a capability of leaping heights of six feet or more.
The nose color is black or grizzle. The black nose is permitted with combination of black and pink lips. The ears cropped or outcropped, but preferable is uncropped according to the American Bulldog Association Standard. This
breed neck is slightly arched, tapering from shoulders to head and muscular with medium length.

Brown, red, brindle, white and tan.

The dog height varies from 22-28 inches and the bitch varies from 20-26 inches.

Dogs have 70-120 lbs and bitches have 60-100 lbs.

American bulldog lives 8 to 16 years.

They can be trained carefully to behave properly around children and love them. However, they are very aggressive around strangers and other
house pets. Proper socialization is necessary to an American Bulldog, It is better to start the training as early as possible to keep good memory and for understanding the commands it takes long time.
