Alaskan malamute is recognized by AKC, UKC, CKC, FCI, APRI and KCGB. The talents of Alaskan malamute are search, rescue, sledding, weight pulling, carting and racing.
In 1986 the malamutes and other sled dogs became more popular and valuable during Klondike Gold Rush period. Frequently they were crossbred with imported
dog breeds. It was used for pulling hundreds or thousands of supplies to villages, suppose if there is heavy loads four dogs are required and for heavy freighting.

The Alaskan malamute is looking very large and heavily boned dog. Generally the coat is short like outer coat is very thick and coarse, but the under coat is greasy and woolly nature. The head is looking very broad between the ears. The common feature of
malamute tail is “cork screw” appearance which falls one side on the body. The eyes are brown in color with almond shaped. The dog is disqualified by the indication of blue eyes.

White, black with the shade of grey and white, all shades of red or sable with shading.

The dog height is 23 inches and bitch height is 25 inches.

A healthy
Alaskan malamute dog weight is 85-125 lbs and bitch is having 75 lbs.

Almost he lives 9-15 years.

Alaskan malamutes are very active and energetic with strong bones. This
dog is an affectionate with their owners and also which is noble, Intelligent, loyal and very friendly. But it is always interdependent itself. The litter size is on average 6 puppies.
The Alaskan malamutes settles nice and calm adults after the maturity. They are not suitable for guard dogs and watch dog but highly suitable for risk of sheep worrying. The tendency of barking is very low.
Alaskan malamutes are blow their undercoats twice a year.

Generally Alaskan malamute is very hard breed and good
house pet. It is better to buy when it is in puppy stage otherwise you have to carefull about that. Training and firm handling are compulsory to keep them in wellmannered.
